Pyros Dimas- A Weightlifting Legend

Gold minded athletes
Sometimes we succeed...and more often we fail, fail, and fail again. It is the one who overcomes failure the most who will eventually succeed the best in the end. This was Dimas' last lift in the Olympics, he retired after this lift (the symbol of leaving his shoes on the platform). It was a fail, however, it is how he dealt with that kind of failure his entire life that got him to where he was that day on that platform. Dimas has learned to learn from every lift, he will learn from this one as well.
During that last attempted lift Dimas was Tied with 4 other athletes at that point. Some people criticize Dimas for not lifting a more manageable weight that would have got him at least to the podium on his final kick at the can. However, Dimas, like all other gold medal athletes have a very "tunnel visioned" approach to situations like this: GOLD. These athletes are like bulls rushing full tilt towards a target, ready to crush it, instead of seeing red, they see gold. What do you see when failure is staring you in the eyes?
